Oregon has held steady amongst the top 16 teams in the nation for the majority of the season as the Ducks have stayed in the mix for the Pac-12 title all year long. Head Coach Dana Altman and his staff have continued to find a way to reload the roster and not miss too much of a beat as they have built a program that is set up to consistently contend for a conference title on a regular basis.

Bad Losses: 11/29 vs North Carolina (74-78), 1/16 at Washington State (61-72), 2/8 at Oregon State (53-63)

Why They Can Surprise:
Peyton Pritchard is an experienced senior in the backcourt and you can’t put a price tag on how invaluable that is to the Ducks. Chris Duarte, Anthony Mathis, and Will Richardson round out a deep backcourt, which is going to be another big asset for Oregon in the NCAA Tournament. The efficiency of the offense is another reason why the Ducks can make a deep run as they are shooting 47.0 percent from the field heading into the postseason. They also are very battle tested as they played Houston, North Carolina, Gonzaga, Michigan and a pretty difficult conference schedule as well. This team is going to be a problem in the NCAA Tournament in situations when teams don’t have much time to prepare for their defensive pressure.
 
Why They Can Disappoint:
Free throw shooting is a problem as the Ducks are only shooting 70.0 percent from the charity stripe. They also had a couple of surprising losses to Oregon State and Washington State during conference play. The ability to avoid a cold shooting stretch for an extended period of time is going to keep Oregon from having an early exit. They had a second half performance at Stanford where they made just six of 30 shots from the floor which led to a 70-60 loss to the Cardinal. If they have a poor shooting half like during the opening weekend of the NCAA Tournament, they will have a quick exit from the postseason.
